Harbor Estates Apartments is located in Essex, Maryland in the 21221 zip code. This apartment community was built in 1970 and has 2 floors with 650 units.
I live in the Harbor point neighborhoods in two separate houses on either side of the neighborhood. Converted from 2 bdr to 3 bdr. I moved into the first house in November, it was cold outside and quiet. On the first day when it was too hot outside to turn on the air conditioner, someone was shot at a bus stop across the street. After I moved into a 3bdr house someone was shot and killed in the same stop. I took my front kitchen window off someone else and the rental office is paying me to have it … replaced. There is a lot of crime in the area, and parents just let their children run around the area unsupervised. Rats are another major problem throughout the community. These two places where I live are full of rats, so bad that we can still see them during the day. My ex shot them with a BB gun when they left the kitchen and entered the restaurant. I find a nest of pinky mice in the cupboards, they nest inside the boxes. They should not charge a pet deposit or pet rent for cats, they should deduct money from your rent if you have cats because they are free from pest control. You should definitely disinfect and clean the counters daily, and the inside of the cabinets weekly because of rat urine and droppings. I have monkeys in a 2 bdr house but not in a 3 bdr. I think it depends on your neighbors and what part you live in. The water bill is very high. The monthly bill is more than a quarter of the water bill for a single-family home. If your rent is late you can’t use the pool, but you have to pay the crazy water bill. The kitchen was full of moisture from the water and dryer and I had to scrub the walls and plaster the ceiling because of the brown liquid running down the walls and dripping from the ceiling.
Bad customer service every day there is a new person in the office. Snobby office staff who are not properly trained. Usually you have to be asked several times who to talk to. Lots of rubbish between 3m + houses and still not taken. A lot of waste removal was involved but the community was sued. The walls are cracking and falling apart after only 3 months, the closet doors are not installed properly and fall off all the time. Old machines nothing new Constant crime .Worst place I have ever lived… literally.
Walnut Grove Townhomes* Apartments
Poor management and insensitivity in this area is not healthy at all, the smell of gas sometimes in the kitchen when there is no opening (high) is advised because the oven is very old and maybe when you go out. That was more than 2 years ago the old oven has sunk or the th floor has sunk, the roden issue has never stopped for a year, it’s worse.
The rental agent is useless and a liar. There is a water bill!! The houses are full of rats / bugs. Maintenance is slow. The rent is variable!!
My neighbor is quiet. My neighbors are friendly and the walk to the schools is good. My first impression of the place was very good and I liked what I saw or I can say I liked the model I saw. I first moved in May 2015 and I can say that they showed me a different model and my space was very small. the woman he rented was horrible. he lied and said that I have a dishwasher, it’s very clear that he is there and when we visit him… he is rude and chases me. I joined in May 2015 and now it’s October 2015 and I’m ready. everything started going wrong 3-4 months ago. One thing I don’t like about this place is the laundry. they told me that it should be open from 9-6 (which is dum) but i think i mean for security but there are days they are open and there are days they are not. They open late n close early or open early n close early. the bathroom has no outlets, the AC unit is noisy. the pavement outside is horrible. they will always come and cut the grass. the people at the rental office were great at making sure I had the best living experience possible. I pay more rent. the water is very hot. enough space. the back yard is ugly. they don’t tell you when the water bill came. It is not easy to pay rent online. It is very good that this place is not safe for children and adults. this place seems very easy to hack. there are SOOOOO many bugs I can’t believe it. I saw bugs that I had never seen before. I often see crows but almost all the bugs I see. The last major ISSUE I had was the MICE/RAT attacks. May 2015 and October I moved and I counted 4 rats.. you can say that 4 is not a lot but I have more and more hundreds. I had to put sticks and traps all over the house to control the attack. I have seen holes in the walls that these rats can enter. I covered and covered the few holes I could find but I’m sure there were more. this is a big problem and i want this place to burn. It all started with poop on the stove and one day I saw one in my kitchen running from the bedroom. please don’t stay here. this place must go. I try to be as open and honest as possible. in October I have until next May to leave or soon I will post more if more problems occur.. thank you Essex is a peaceful township community on the Chesapeake Bay, 11 miles east of Baltimore.
